Mongoose Legion L100

Mongooses Legion L100 is designed for tall teenagers, adults or/and experienced riders. In this preview, were going to give you an overview of the key components and help you decide whether its your next BMX.

And it starts with the Legion L100s frame.

Absolutely no high tensile steel is used on this build. Further, unlike the Legion L80s half-steel and half-Chromoly construction, the Legion L100 is now completely built from 4130 Chromoly.

Simply explained, the reasons why Chromoly frames perform better are:

Chromoly tubing flexes just enough to mute hard landings. This minimises the shock and also makes the bike a little more comfortable – enough to encourage you to push your skills.

Chromo tubes are more resistant to corrosion and are a little lighter, but it’s the ride quality that sets 4130 Chromoly BMX bikes apart.

As expected, a BMX at this level comes with the Mid-sealed bottom bracket. Bearings in this unit are sealed from the elements. This makes them last *much* longer and spin smoother.

And lastly with frame design, an integrated headset keeps the front end of the Legion L100 looking clean and sharp. The bearings are pressed directly into the frame (and not sitting separately *on top of the frame*) making the headset/frame connection stronger.

Unlike the other Legions in the range, Mongoose has built the L100 spec with Xposure Infinity-XD rims. And also unlike the others, these use a double wall rim instead of a single wall for extra strength.

Rims are laced to sealed bearings hubs and just like the headset, spin smooth and offer better protection from rain and dirt.

• 0.25-inch longer in the top tube (21″ top tube).
• 4130 Chromoly complete frame (details below).
• 4130 Chromoly fork and steerer tube softens impacts, is more corrosion resistant and lighter.
• Xposure Infinity-XD double wall rims for added strength and wider 30mm rim width.
• 2.40-inch wide tyres for extra impact absorption from hard landings.
